Forty Minutes. Eyes Closed. Together.
This week, we gathered at Dart Park Auditorium for Unwind and Recharge — a 40-minute breathwork and inner peace session led by Rachael, an Occupational Therapist with training in yoga and breathwork.
No one knew quite what to expect. Some people had done breathwork before. Most hadn’t. But within a few minutes of Rachael’s voice filling the room, something shifted. Shoulders dropped. Breathing slowed. The noise of the day just… faded.
What It Felt Like
There’s a moment in guided breathwork where the whole room syncs up. You can feel it — a quiet hum of people breathing together, letting go of whatever they carried in. Someone sighed. Someone else laughed softly. And then it was just stillness.
Rachael guided us through a series of mindful breathing exercises that moved between energising and calming. The kind of thing that sounds simple until you’re in it, and then you realise how rarely you actually stop.
The Part That Surprised Us
What made this special wasn’t the technique — it was what happened after. People stayed. They talked to each other. Not about work or plans, but about how they felt. That almost never happens at events, and here it was the most natural thing in the room.
You don’t need to go far to reconnect with yourself. Sometimes you just need forty minutes, a quiet space, and the permission to breathe.
More to Come
Unwind and Recharge is part of a growing series of community wellness moments — small, intentional gatherings designed to help you come back to yourself.
If you missed this one, there’ll be more. Keep an eye on our events page and come along when the moment feels right. No experience needed. Just you.
